Díaz-Canel receives president of the Communist Party of Spain

Party First Secretary and President of the Republic Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez yesterday February 9, received the president of the Communist Party of Spain, José Luis Centella Gómez, with whom he shared a fraternal, amicable conversation.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed current regional and international issues. The Cuban head of state thanked the Spanish communist leader for his permanent support in denouncing the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on our people by the U.S. government, which has been opportunistically tightened during the pandemic.
For his part, the President of the Communist Party of Spain expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome received during his visit to Cuba and reiterated the Spanish party’s solidarity with Cuba in the struggle against the blockade and slanderous media campaigns.
During the Spanish delegation’s stay in Cuba, Centella Gómez was also received by PCC Political Bureau member and Secretary of Organization, Roberto Morales Ojeda, and completed an extensive agenda of meetings with political and government authorities, as well as visits to sites of historical and social interest.
Manuel Pineda, Secretary of International Relations of the Spanish Communist Party, and Gloria Aguilar Reina, president of the Patrice Lumumba International Solidarity Association also participated in the meeting.
Participating on the Cuban side were Political Bureau members Roberto Morales Ojeda and Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as Ángel Arzuaga Reyes, deputy director of the Party Central Committee department of International Relations. /Granma
