Vietnam and Cuba agreed on Tuesday during the 39th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission to create conditions so that their enterprises take advantage of tariff preferences in order to increase trade and bilateral cooperation.
Co-chaired by Vietnamese Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi and Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca, the parties reviewed the Action Plan to implement the 2021-2025 Economic Agenda.
The two countries have agreed to continue developing Vietnam’s assistance program for rice and corn production in Cuba, as well as aquaculture, as a contribution to food security on the island.
The Cuban representation pledged to create conditions for the various Vietnamese companies with investments in the Caribbean nation to go ahead with their projects.
The Cuban Ministry of Health reiterated its willingness to complete the shipment of anti-Covid-19 vaccines to Vietnam and to transfer the technology for the production of immunizers so that the country can manufacture them on its own.
The delegations also agreed to increase cooperation in agriculture, food processing, construction, renewable energies, science and technology, information and communications, tourism, education, customs, banking and finance, sports, and labor and social affairs, among others.
