After great efforts, the forest fire of great proportions detected last April 16 in areas of pine forests of the Alejandro de Humboldt National Park, a World Heritage Natural Site, is practically extinguished as of Wednesday. Specialized brigades were mobilized to control and combat these fires.

The importance of Tourism in the Cuban economy and its performance as a bridge for collaboration between peoples were highlighted by Hugo Ramos, Cuban ambassador to Ireland, during his keynote address at the III International Symposium on Tourism Management, which runs from 26 to April 30, as part of the X International Scientific Conference of the University of Holguín.

The signing of six new international agreements strengthens one of the objectives of the 10th International Scientific Conference of the University of Holguín, which aims to boost relations with other countries.

The university focused on the sustainable development of its environments, responsibilities and projections of the new scenarios will be the central theme of the X International Scientific Conference of the University of Holguín (UHo) that takes place virtually from April 26 to 30.
