The Eastern Central Department of Archeology (DCOA) in Holguín developed the online Forum "45 years of contributions to society", on August 18, regarding the four and a half decades of its creation.

Cuban Vice Prime Minister, Inés María Chapman, checked on Thursday in the province of Holguín issues related to the water supply to the population, one of the social programs prioritized in Cuba.

Holguín, along with Matanzas, is one of the Cuban provinces with which the Canadian government maintains the closest ties on the island, through its participation in two of the most important economic sectors in the territory: tourism and the production of nickel and cobalt.

Holguín is among the five Cuban provinces with the highest number of accidents on public roads, whose main cause is the indiscipline of drivers and pedestrians, thus a training course sponsored by the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is taught here.
