The Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment in the province of Holguin promotes the planting of crops resistant to climate change, as part of the Tarea Vida (Life Task), a state plan to confront this phenomenon in Cuba.

Strengthening institutional management, focused on cultural policy based on the artistic talent of the territory, as well as expanding goods and services as a socialist state company promoting local development, are priorities for the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC) in Holguín.

When inaugurating the 5-star hotel Playa Pesquero and the Holguín tourist pole on January 21, 2003, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz stated that this facility opened, like all those of its kind in the country, for tourism of peace, health and security.

An important step for the realization of the Expo Holguín Trade Fair 2023, scheduled from April 4 to 7, is the approval of its organizing committee, chaired by Julio César Estupiñán Rodríguez, governor of this eastern province.
