Holguín Company boosts aggregate management for construction

The Construction Materials Company (Médano) in Holguín boosts the management and supply of aggregates to support construction projects carried out in the province.
The company operates six concessioned deposits for the extraction of various materials in a territory marked by the development of tourism, housing and energy transformation projects, said Yudelkis Salcedo Fernández, technical and development director.
The range of resources obtained includes gravel, granite, artificial sand, processed and washed mine sand, and stone dust, which are extracted from strategic quarries in the various municipalities of Holguín.
The identification of deposits, based on their characteristics, available volumes, and geographic location, are essential factors for efficient design in construction projects, allowing for optimized production and a timely response to client needs, she added.
Aware of the environmental impact generated by mining activities, they implement rehabilitation plans in the affected areas once the approved volume of material has been exhausted. These plans cover approximately 75 hectares, with deposits that have been active for more than 20 years.
Medano stands out for its use of science, innovation, and research aimed at perfecting production processes in the sector.
