The General José Miró Argenter Graphic Business Unit of Holguín is expanding its production capabilities by using recyclable waste in the industry, implementing a circular economy that previously wasted 80% of these materials.

Carlos González Mulet, director of the Group, said that recycling extends to most of the Polygraphic industrial processes and enables the manufacture of useful products that help improve workers’ salaries.

He added that the items produced are sold retail at the company’s own store, with payment options in cash or electronically, and at affordable prices for the public.

Although this activity does not provide a constant source of income, it constitutes an additional economic contribution for the entity, González Mulet said.

Among the products made are drawing books for children, school notebooks, models used by companies, ropes, labels, and other ítems, which are marketed at fairs and also donated to institutions such as the Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja Pediatric Hospital and schools.

The Holguín Polygraphic Company, is recognized for its diverse services and productions, is a key industry in the economic sector of eastern Cuba, and the investment in its technology fosters new commercial links and chains in the region. (Source: ACN)
