The Ministry of Public Health of Cuba has allocated a budget of more than one million 850 thousand pesos to Holguín province for the completion of four main objects of work in two provincial hospitals undergoing a process of expansion and improvement of capacities and infrastructure.

 

So far six Holguín municipalities report no deaths in children under one year of age, which shows the care provided to pregnant women and children in this territory through the Mother and Child Care Program (PAMI), in the middle of the worsening of the U.S. economic and financial blockade against Cuba.

 

The event Fertilemb 2019 was the first scientific activity carried out by the Chair of Embryology and Fertility of the University of Medical Sciences of Holguín (UCMH), aimed at promoting a space where participants establish actions and propose new ideas in favor of the reproductive health.

 

Most of the people of Holguín cannot even think that health institutions like the pediatric hospital "Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja” could stop providing free service if they do not belong anymore to the public health system.
