BRICS Leaders Adopt the Kazan Declaration

The leaders of the BRICS countries, gathered at the alliance’s Summit in the Russian city of Kazan, adopted the final declaration of the meeting.
The documents, with 134 paragraphs, details the results of the role of Russia as chair of the group during the year and pointed out priorities for the future.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, host of the Summit, said that the declaration contains general considerations on the world events and wraps up the results of Russia’s role as chair of the group, while draws up points for interaction in the long run.
The document has a preamble and four sections, two of them on the strengthening of multilateralism towards a fairer and democratic world order; the reinforcement of cooperation for world and regional stability and security.
Another two sections refer to the expansion of financial and economic cooperation towards an equitable world development and the extension of humanitarian exchanges for socio-economic development.
The document reiterates the need to keep enhancing solidarity and cooperation among BRICS nations on the basis of their common interests and key priorities, and improve their strategic association.
