Chavez: Venezuela 2009 Ends Good

Venezuela concludes a year Thursday that in the opinion of President Hugo Chavez closes good despite of predictions of the opposition.

"We finally closed good despite of the world crisis, the crisis of capitalism" emphasized Chavez during a speech broadcast by radio and TV.

The leader took the opportunity to recognize the work done in these 12 months by the Antidrug National Office (ONA), the Interior and Justice Minister in the struggle against drug trafficking and insecurity.

I think that with the issue of public security, the fight against criminals, no matter under which mask is disguised, we have taken the bull by the horns this year, emphasized the leader.

In another sense he assured that the economic measures adopted in 2009 by the government prevent Venezuela from going into a financial crisis, she expressed.

The dignitary emphasize that the Venezuelan workers salary experienced a 20 percent increase.

In his opinion this decision was applauded by the citizens because their standard of living was also improved and was a measure taken in the most difficult moments of the world crisis of the capitalist system.

Those measures showed the Venezuelan economic strength, he also noted.

Chavez also greeted creation of the National Police as an action that will give the country a concrete hope.

The Venezuelan government will allocate 5 billion Bolivares (2.325 billion dollars) to the National Police in 2010 that has begun patrolling Sucre and Caracas parish churches.
