China Extols Cuban Ophthalmologists´ Work

Chinese authorities recognized the work of Cuban ophthalmologists for their contribution to that country''s socioeconomic development, sources from the sector informed on Wednesday.

Dr. Jose Carlos Moreno, from the China-Cuba Friendship Hospital in Henan province, is among those decorated with the Yellow River Friendship Medal, granted by local authorities, directors of the Cuban Medical Services Enterprise told Prensa Latina.

Moreno was among the foreign experts recognized for their work in favor of that zone's socioeconomic development.

The province's Deputy Governor Li Ke granted the distinction to the outstanding professionals, during a ceremony in Zhengzhou city, as part of activities for the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the People's Republic of China.

Authorities in Qinghai province also decorated Dr. Armando Capote Cabrera, prestigious expert from Cuba's Pando Ferrer Ophthalmology Institute.

More Cuban specialists work at another hospital in Datong city, Shanxi province, as part of joint cooperation projects. / PL
