Labrada (2-1) entered with one out in the second as starter Juan Alberto Cruz got into a jam allowing one run. In six innings, the reliever allowed another run with five hits and two walks to let Carlos Santiesteban retire the last man in the eighth inning. Then Juan Enrique Pérez was sent to the mound as a closer and recorder his first save of the season retiring the due up down in order.
Again, Holguín’s lack of clutch ability was quite evident as all three homers were hit with no men on base. Of their four runs, three were solo blasts and the other one was scored by Yordan Manduley on Quintana’s sac-fly.
Yeison Pacheco got three hits of the team’s eight hits and neither scored nor drove in any runs. Lerys Aguilera hit another double.
Neither team made fielding errors.
Abel Viego (1-1) allowed all four runs, six hits and walked five to take the loss.
Today, Holguín will move South and cross the Batabanó Gulf to face La Isla ar Cristóbal Labra Stadium.
