Top Cuban Official Attends Namibian President Inauguration PDF Print E-mail

Cuban Vice President Esteban Lazo attended the central ceremony on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Independence of Namibia, and Hifikepunye Lucas Pohamba's inauguration as a president of that African country.


The Cuban leader met with heads of State and Government of Africa, as well as former presidents and other figures of the continent attended the activity as guests.

Prime Minister Nahas Angula and Deputy Prime Minister Marco Hausiku also swore in.

Lazo was welcomed by Hifikepunye Pohamba, to whom he delivered a message from Cuban President Raul Castro.

Both leaders reasserted interest of expanding economic and trade relations between Namibia and Cuba.

The Cuban delegation chief also talked with the Angolan National Parliament Assembly, who presided over his country 's delegation to these celebrations.

Lazo chaired the activity marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries, presided over by Namibian prime minister. / Prensa Latina
