The referendum will take place on June 28, on the date that marks the first anniversary of the coup d’etat against President Manuel Zelaya. The National Resistance Front of the People of Honduras (FNRP) announced that they will conduct a referendum on the necessity of a Constituent Assembly and also summoned the public to take part in the Gathering for the Re-foundation of Honduras, which will take place in the city of La Esperanza, from March 12 to 14. |

Roberto Micheletti, the leader of the coup in Honduras against the legitimate President Manuel Zelaya, has been awarded a "life deputy" title, among other benefits, from his colleagues of the National Congress. This immediately brings to mind the events in Chile where the dictator Augusto Pinochet also tried to escape justice at the mercy of a permanent senate. |
