Thousands of people in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba will take to the streets on Tuesday morning to pay tribute to Commander of the Revolution Juan Almeida Bosque when his mortal remains will be taken to the mausoleum of the historic 3rd Eastern Front of the Rebel Army in that province for a military burial ceremony.

According to Granma newspaper, the funeral procession will begin at 7:00 a.m. from the military airport of this eastern city.

The route includes the City Hall of Santiago de Cuba, where the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, announced the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1st, 1959.

The private burial ceremony will take place on top of the La Esperanza hill, where the mausoleum is located and where the mortal remains of 40 members of the guerrilla detachment of the 3rd Front – founded on March 6, 1958 – rest. / ACN
