Holguin Weightlifter Victor Manuel Quiñones won two silver medals in the competitions taking place in the 23rd Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.

In the 94 kilograms, Quiñones finished second in the snatch and a clean and jerk modalities, both times behind the host Jhonatan Rivas.

Quiñones raised 162 kilos at the start, while the Venezuelan Jeyson Arias (158 kilos) finished third.

Rivas also dominated the clean and jerk for the approval of the fans that supported him at the Coliseo Universidad del Atlántico, where he lifted 204 kilos, one more than the Holguin weightlifter.

Colombia leads the weightlifting medals table with 11 gold medals, seven silver and three bronze medals, followed by Venezuela (5-0-3) and Cuba (2-7-3), in the first three positions.

In previous days, the province of Holguin had added a gold medal to the Cuban delegation, thanks to the crown of Tamara Robles, holder in the 53 kilograms in the taekwondo competition.
