Assange Speaks for the First Time

julian-assange.jpgWikiLeaks founder, Jullian Assange, dennounced today the persecution that suffers the free speech, in the figure of Wikileaks from the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

"Assange will be willing to face Swedish justice for alleged sexual offenses but he demands certain guarantees", said today the Spanish Baltazar Garzon, team leader of the defense of Julian Assange.

"Assange will continue demanding his rights and for that I was instructed to initiate appropriate legal actions", said Garzon.

He also stressed that his defender wants to respond to the Swedish authorities to demonstrate the insonsistency of charges, but demands minimum and sufficient guarantees so far not been granted.

Assange also stresses that the rights of the members of WikiLeaks are being violated, the lawyer added.

He said in London that they will continue to fight to obtain the safe passage for the Australian journalist who qualify for the asylum granted to him by the government of Ecuador on the 16th of august.

Assange is in good spirit and thank the people of Ecuador and President Rafael Correa for the benefit of asylum which was granted to him because of his fear of being extradited from Sweden to the United States, said the lawyer./ PrensaLatina
