Cuban Journalists Pay Homage to Antonio Moltó

Photo: CubaperiodistasIn the presence of dozens of colleagues, friends and floral offerings sent by Army General Raul Castro, president of the Councils of State and Ministers, and Esteban Lazo, president of the National Assembly of People's Power, it began mid-morning on Wednesday the posthumous tribute to the President of the Union of Cuban Journalists, Antonio Moltó Martorell, whose ashes are exposed at the Casa de la Prensa's national headquarters in Havana.

A book of condolences was opened at the entrance of the House of the Press where those who arrive express their feelings towards the friend, companion and leader of Cuban journalists.

Together with the relatives of Moltó and members of the Presidency and the Upec National Committee, there are the comrades Juan Carlos Camaño, president of the Latin American Federation of Journalists (Felap), Teresa Amarelle Boué, member of the Council of State and president of The Federation of Cuban Women, Joel Suárez Pellé, head of the Ideological Department of the Central Committee and its deputy chief Angel Arzuaga Rey, Nereida López Labrada, general secretary of the National Union of Culture Workers, managers and workers of the media and National headquarters of Upec, as well as other colleagues.

The Central Committee of the PCC, the National Committee of the UJC, the presidency of the ICRT and the Cuban Radio, the Presidency of Upec and workers of the House of the National Press, as well as the Young Club of the Press and the Pre-university Student Federation (FEEM) have sent floral offerings.

Equal ceremonies are held in all the Press Houses of the country where journalists and friends pay tribute to Antonio Moltó Martorell, who dedicated more than 50 years of his life to the practice of journalism. / Cubaperiodistas
