The White House confirmed the cancellation of its subscriptions to The New York Times and The Washington Post, after President Donald Trump suggested such a suspension.
According to The Hill, the press secretary of the executive mansion, Stephanie Grisham, confirmed to that media they had no plans to renew the subscriptions to the two important newspapers, which frequently receive attacks from the Republican president.
In an interview given last night to the Fox News television network, Trump said they no longer even want to have the Times in the White House. 'We're probably going to finish that and The Washington Post. They are false', 'said the Republican ruler.
Often the head of state attacks both publications for the coverage they make of his administration, which he considers unfair, and refers to those and other journalistic organizations as 'false news' or 'corrupt'.
He has even branded the media that criticize him as 'enemies of the people', comments that have caused many criticisms against the ruler.
Trump, who has not participated in any of the three White House correspondents' dinners held since he came to power, contrary to the fact that American presidents traditionally attend that event, has even criticized Fox News, the chain of his preference, for disseminating surveys with unfavorable results for him. / PL
