Eastern Cuba suffers some 300 aftershocks, 15 of them perceptible across the territory

Around 300 aftershocks, 15 of them perceptible, were registered in the central-eastern region of Cuba, informed Enrique Diego Arango Arias, head of the National Seismological Service of the National Center for Seismological Research (Cnais by its Spanish acronym).

President Miguel Díaz-Canel reported today that so far no loss of human lives has been reported as a consequence of the lashing of Cuba by the intense hurricane Rafael.
It represents a potential danger for the western region of Cuba, including the special municipality Isla de la Juventud.
Experts raised the likelihood of the formation of a tropical depression to 80 percent, noting that the weather event will later become a storm as it advances northward through the Caribbean Sea, having high odds to hit Cuba.
