The Cuban Council of State convened the Fifth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), in its Ninth Legislature, for this May 14.

The strengthening of Cuba's economy has drawn the attention of local authorities during its analysis at the Council of Ministers, local media reported on Tuesday.

Cuba denounced its exclusion by the U.S. government from the preparations of the 9th Summit of the Americas, slated to take place from June 8 through 10, in Los Angeles, California.
