A recent meeting of experts and scholars, headed by President Miguel Díaz-Canel, addressed the importance of the nation's focus on achieving greater energy self-sufficiency through the combined use of renewable energy and fossil fuels.

Most of the lit torches that will descend tonight, down the steps of the University of Havana, and those that will cross other streets in the country, were prepared by children and their mothers and fathers. In these torches lies the metaphor of much of what we are as a nation.

The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro, and the president of the National Defense Council, Miguel Díaz-Canel, inaugurated today the Strategic Exercise Bastion 2024, which will extend until next Friday.
