The FCB venue in Holguín paid homage to five of its artists.

The Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets (FCBC) in Holguin paid tribute to five artists with the opening of a collective exhibition belonging to the Capsules catalog, as part of the activities of the Feria de Regalos Arte para Mamá (Gifts Fair Art for Mom) taking place in this city until May 11.

Cosme Proenza was homaged in his homeland.

The exhibit bring the audience closer to the work of Magalys Reyes Peña, Eduardo Leyva Cabrera, Jose Emilio Leyva, Jorge Luis Betancourt and the master Cosme Proenza through an audiovisual material that contains his creations, said Anette Rodriguez Reyes, specialist in plastic arts of the Holguin branch of FCBC.

In the exhibition, located in the El Zaguan of the headquarters of this association in the eastern city, the public will find the painting La autómata by Magalys Reyes worked with acrylic on canvas and which, says the author, is a reflection on the excessive use of new technologies as people are getting too carried away with them.

They exhibit also includes old pieces by the collector Jorge Luis Betancourt as the Victrola Ortthofónica VV-4-7 OF 1926 and the Gramophone Victor I of 1903, both with an excellent restoration work and conservation.

Plaza de la Marqueta is one of the venues of Arte para Mamá.

Arte para Mama in Holguin includes 73 exhibitors from Las Tunas, Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos.

The event's agenda includes business rounds, fashion shows and contests for the population, whose winners will be awarded works by prominent visual artists from the so-called Cuban city of the parks, said Yamile Escalona, communication specialist at FCBC.

For several years locals have enjoyed this Fair, which in each edition increases the call, as well as the people’s participation and variety of offers.
