The International Workshop of Operation and Maintenance of Wind Farms-2018, takes place in Holguín from October 15th to 19th with a broad agenda.
The event is sponsored by the Center for the Study of Renewable Energy Technologies (CETER), the Technological University of Havana (CUJAE) and the German company Corporate Energies (CE) with the support of the University of Holguín.
The meeting will be attended by some 30 delegates belonging to the Electric Union and the universities located from Ciego de Ávila to Guantánamo.
Participants will address topics related to the maintenance of installations of that branch on the Island, along with Cuban experts in the field and the German company Corporate Energies (CE).
Dr. Roberto Sierra Pérez, director of Science, Technology and Innovation of the University of Holguín and coordinator of the workshop by the Ministry of Higher Education, said that the event will be an ideal space to expand the training of technical forces working in the units generating wind power in Cuba.
Sierra noted that the event takes place in Holguín as it is the territory with the greatest potential for this type of generation of renewable energy on the Island, as there are currently operating two wind farms in the coastal town of Gibara.
