The Universal Company of Holguín is receiving donations from various provinces in the central and western regions of the country to support the areas affected by Hurricane Melissa.

These donations are distributed under the guidance of the Provincial Defense Council to ensure fair and prioritized delivery to those affected.

Among the received aid, four bales of recycled clothing from the non-state entity Lácteos Clamanta, based in Havana, were sent to the municipality of Cueto. Additionally, the business system of the Revolutionary Armed Forces sent donations from the western region, including food, clothing, footwear, mattresses, and other supplies for the municipality of Sagua de Tánamo.

Six gasoline generators were also delivered to the Food Products and Consumer Goods Wholesale Company, along with housing repair materials such as zinc sheets, purlins, and fixing hooks, which were distributed equally among the most affected municipalities. In Urbano Noris, more than 3,500 ten-liter bottles were distributed for drinking water storage.

Furthermore, 40 thermal transport containers were delivered and distributed among several municipalities, along with large quantities of construction materials such as zinc, fiber cement, and asphalt-fiber sheets.

A donation from Venezuela is also expected soon, which will include food, mattresses, zinc sheets, 500-liter water tanks, bottled water, and kitchenware, continuing the recovery efforts throughout the province. (Source: ACN)
