Cosmos Hotel Group, Russia's largest operator, and Cuban tourism company Gaviota S.A. signed a management agreement for the five-star Hotel Sierra Cristal in the province of Holguín.

The 640-room hotel will operate under the name Sierra Cristal by Cosmos Hotels. It is located 25 kilometers from the city of Antilla and 114 kilometers from Frank País International Airport.

Alexander Biba, president of Cosmos Hotel Group, stated that this is the company’s first international resort hotel to be managed abroad, and added that the expansion strategy includes new hotel and urban projects under management and franchise.

The Sierra Cristal is a five-star resort complex completed in 2024 and joins the network of Gaviota S.A., one of Cuba's leading tourism groups.

The agreement was signed within the framework of the Tourism Territories Forum (FTT-2025), held on October 15 and 16 at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex in Moscow.

The Cosmos Hotel Group is a subsidiary of the investment conglomerate Sistema and presents itself as Russia's largest hotel chain, with more than 20 properties in different cities.

Its flagship hotel, the Cosmos Moscow, opened in 1979 for the 1980 Olympic Games, has 1,777 rooms and capacity for more than 3,000 guests, in addition to a convention center for 2,000 participants.

The chain serves hundreds of thousands of guests each year, including domestic tourists, foreign visitors, and business travelers, and its goal is to strengthen its leadership in the sector, modernize its facilities, and consolidate Russia as a key tourist destination.
