The Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Hotel, located in the Guardalavaca resort area of Holguín, will develop a new ecological trail, as part of the institution's economic exploitation strategy in harmony with nature.
Bárbara Elizabeth Lobet Masferrer, public relations expert at the hotel, told ACN that this this project includes the enhancement of the nearby estuary, an attraction for nature tourism.
She stressed that the initiative includes the approach to flora and fauna species common in the place and the measures focused on the protection of local species such as crabs.
In addition, the specialist pointed out, the hotel promotes activities that bring visitors closer to native flora and fauna, as well as sustainable agricultural production in its self-sufficiency farm, which supplies food to the workers' dining room and offers contact with tropical aromatic plants, such as the yerbabuena.
Lobet Masferrer indicated that the complex also strengthens environmental education in the community through partnerships with the Luis Corona primary school, offering talks and interest groups for younger generations.
Regarding the application of the circular economy, she pointed out that waste such as coffee grounds, banana peels and ashes are reused in organic fertilizers and work is being carried out to improve the hotel's accessibility.
To diversify its tourist offerings and preserve Cuban identity, it creates cocktails and liquors with traditional flavors.
The Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Hotel was conceived to promote sustainable tourism in harmony with nature, which has been consolidated during the operation of the facilities.
The hotel has received national and international recognition for its environmental management, standing out in coastal conservation, reducing single-use plastics, and eliminating harmful refrigerant gases. (Source: ACN)
