The Comandante Gustavo Machín Nickel Mechanics Company (EMNI), located in the Holguín municipality of Moa, is diversifying its production as part of local development projects in the eastern region.
Idelsy de la Cruz Pérez, a leading specialist in the industry, told ACN that, although the company's main objective is to provide spare parts and components to industries dedicated to the exploitation of the mineral, they are expanding into other lines.
These services aim to offer smelting, maintenance, metal construction, and equipment and tool repairs to various entities and organizations, maintaining high quality standards, she said.
Goods are also provided to the population through the sale of improved water-based paints and utilitarian objects made from surplus materials, such as charcoal stoves, among others.
She commented that the company is involved in environmental education initiatives, supporting social and public health institutions, and maintaining the vitality of nickel mining factories.
EMNI also partners with the transportation sector in the repair of bus engines and has contributed to the restoration of heritage buildings in several Cuban provinces.
This entity, founded in 1987, also produces and markets acetylene gas for various processes and provides anticorrosive protection, lifting, and work at heights with hydraulic platforms, according to the demands of the sector. (Source: ACN)
