Holguín promotes Women´s Advancement Program

The Construction Company for Engineering Works No 17 (Ingeco/ECOI-17) in Holguín, promotes the Women´s Advancement Program trough strategies to foster gender equality in the sector.

With over 500 women in roles such as operators, engineers and management positions, the company carries out actions aimed at their profesional training, such as master's degrees in collaboration with the University of Holguín.

Xiomara Infantes Solórzano, a representative of the entity, said that they also encourage women's participation and leadership in technical projects and participation in events like the Creative Women.

She also highlighted the allocation of transportation resources improve mobility to the city center and work locations and driving licence courses.

They also prioritize healthcare by conducting regular medical checkups aimed at early detection of illnesses and support for pregnant women through telework, and special assistance commissions, as a way to balance work and family responsibilities.

According to Infantes Solórzano, other initiatives developed include training on labor rights and legal protection against violence, and the creation of gender-focused vocational workshops in schools, as well as the construction of a childcare facility for mothers without access to daycare centers.
