World premiere of Codanza in Holguín attracted news interest

The world premiere of Kardia, as part of the season of the contemporary dance company Codanza, which will take place until February 8, attracted news interest during the last week in the province of Holguín.
The presentation, held this Friday in the Raúl Camayd Hall of the Eddy Suñol Theater, features choreography by Vianki González Miranda, director of the company and the performance of a new cast of dancers made up of students of the Dance specialty from the Elementary Art School (EEA) Raúl Gómez García and the Professional Dance School Alfredo Velázquez, of Guantánamo.
For its part, the Romerías de Mayo, main event of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) once again called on young creators and artists from the world to celebrate its 32nd edition from May 2 to 8 in Holguín, this time dedicated to promoting cultural industries in favor of young art.
In recent days, it highlighted the work of the self-consumption farm La Peña de Oliva, belonging to the Numa Food Production and Distribution Company in Holguín, for its contribution to the nutritional security of the territory through the contribution to the elaboration of offers and trade to the population.
Located in the Holguín municipality of Rafael Freyre, it arose with the objective of supporting the Food Sovereignty Law through the creation of areas destined for agriculture that would allow self-sufficiency, explained Yosvanis Moreno Ochoa, director of the Numa Base Business Unit (UEB) in that municipality.
With six hectares of land assigned to agricultural work and a staff of five workers, in just one year of operation, around three harvests consisting of 10 varieties have been obtained, including root vegetables, grains, fruits and vegetables, he said.
On the other hand, the Holguín Provincial Transportation Company prioritized in 2024 the fulfillment of the medibús service for the transfer to medical centers of dozens of people who have chronic pathologies and require continuous care, despite the difficulties faced by the sector.
Wilmer García Ramírez, director of the entity, said that despite a complex context characterized by the low availability of fuel for the operation of means, they guaranteed this service destined to support the Public Health sector.
It allowed the mobility of all patients with kidney failure who require hemodialysis and others who are treated in specialized consultations located throughout the Holguín geography, where difficult-to-access communities are included, he concluded.
