María del Carmen Pereda Mora feels grateful to the workers of state-owned microenterprises Tauba Holmotor, who sponsor her little boy Josué, a cancer patient, through a government program to care for this vulnerable population group.
This project consists of companies and self-employed workers from the municipality of Cacocum taking care of these families and facilitating the care of their basic needs, including transportation for medical appointments.
Pereda Mora said that on a monthly basis they send a food and candy module to the child and guarantee the round-trip trips from his home to the Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja Pediatric Hospital in Holguín.
She added that they are also working to change of the roof of their home and are attentive to the slightest situation that arises in the home.
Tauba Holmotor, equipped with Chinese technology, is inserted in the programs to confront the effects of climate change by manufacturing aggregates for irrigation systems, destined to promote food production in vulnerable and difficult-to-access areas.
Holguín has more than 400 MSMEs among its new economic actors, of which three are state-owned and this is the only one directly linked to production and social projects such as the advancement of women and attention to young people. (Source: ACN)
