Holguín gets ready for May Day celebrations

The Workers Central Union of Cuba (CTC) in the province of Holguín has developed a wide program of activities to celebrate the International Workers Day, on May 1st.

 The celebrations will be dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the CTC and of the 22nd Congress of the labor union, under the motto “For Cuba together we create.”

According to Idalmis Serrano Gómez, general secretary of the CTC in the province, initiatives will be carried out to strengthen the unit and develop productive potential, with the aim to contribute to the macroeconomic stabilization of the country in the current scenario.

The activities include the recognitions to labor unions and outstanding personalities for their work results, as well as the development of productive activities in the communities.

Serrano Gómez also pointed out that due to the limitations with fuel, the traditional parade on May Day will be held at Plaza de la Revolución Calixto García Íñiguez with the assistance of workers and residents of the head city.

Once the event has concluded, cultural, recreational and gastronomic activities will be carried out in each territory, to encourage the enjoyment of the people in an atmosphere of union joy, regarding such a special date.
