Located on the central boulevard of Libertad Street, between Martí and Luz y Caballero, in the Cuban city of parks, this local development project will have various services for which it will use renewable energy.
Róger Luis Guerrero Peña, Telecommunications engineer and creator of the project, informed ACN that the facility has 152 solar panels that generate 38 kW, which have been incorporated into the city's electrical network until its inauguration.
With this contribution, 80 homes benefit during peak hours and 400 during off-peak hours, although the objective is to reach a total capacity of 78 kW at the end of the installation process of the photovoltaic park, he explained.
Guerrero Peña commented that this facility will be the first in the country to offer a comprehensive set of services around Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), services that range from entertainment and gastronomy,
with a 12D Movie Theater and a cyber cafe, to electronic development, device repair and media commerce, for which digital payment will be used.
He added that to achieve this, several state companies and new economic actors have joined efforts, among which are the Computer and Electronics Youth Club (JCCE), the Xetid Computer Solutions Company, the Copextel Company and the MSMEs Salva PC and MyTech.
The future Holguín Technology Center, located in a building built between the 19th and 20th centuries, represents the materialization of the country's objective of promoting science and innovation and putting them in the hands of the people. (Source: ACN)
