The Commander of the Revolution, Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, vice prime minister of the Republic of Cuba, checked on Thursday the functioning of various aspects linked to the socioeconomic management in Holguín, as part of the government visit being carried out in this eastern territory.
Accompanied by Juan Torres Naranjo, Vice Minister of Energy and Mines, and Joan Abel Palmero Pérez, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Party, Valdés Menéndez initially participated in the Provincial Energy Council, in the main municipality, where he became interested in the tasks being carried out in the territory.
The implementation and control of Instruction No. 3 of 2023, related to measures for the rational use of energy, started the debate of the meeting.
In this regard, it was was recognized the impact of the actions in the state sector ; However, despite maintaining positive results, it is still necesary to gain organization to achieve better indicators.
44 photovoltaic systems have been installed in pumping stations, as part of the energy matrix change program, while the operation of refrigerators and cold rooms is limited, which do not contain products whose conservation is affected if they are outside the appropriate temperature, reported Rosell González Pérez, coordinator of programs and objectives of the provincial government.
To continue teleworking , according to the conditions of the workers to assume it, and detecting electrical fraud and other deficiencies associated with the control of electricity, are fundamental tasks.
The council was called to monitor the consumption of the new economic actors of non-state management, since it is everyone's duty to comply with what is established, given the current energy situation.
The importance of identifying, in a timely manner, high consumers, generalizing savings in centers that can reduce their consumption during peak hours and ensuring the rational use of fuel, were also among the topics for debate.
Likewise, the Commander emphasized reinforcing control of compliance with the measures to contribute to the decrease in demand in the province. In this sense, to promote energy awareness in the population is fundamental, together with correct communication and support from mass organizations.
The agenda for the meeting also included an exchange about compliance with the housing program, recognizing Banes and Antilla as the municipalities with the best results, but aware that greater efficiency and the search for alternatives to the limitations are still required.
The behavior of subsidies and constructions by own efforts was discussed, with emphasis on improving the survey of the number of mothers with more than three children and the pending cases in the province, to establish an adequate order.
The renovation works have benefited more than a thousand houses, which is reflected in 83 percent of the year's plan, however, some municipalities have failed to comply due to diferent reasons.
Avoiding illegalities and irregularities in the housing construction will have the effect of reducing technical and construction problems that affect its inhabitants and whose solution represents a necessity for the country.
To continue promoting local production of construction materials such as floor slabs, connections and clay pipes is beneficial to increase the efficiency of the works.
