A few hours after having commemorated the 64th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, the Caravan of Freedom led by young people from the Cuban East arrived in Holguín, a reissue of the historic trajectory led by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz from Santiago de Cuba to Havana, after the victory achieved on January 1, 1959.

On its passage through the Holguín territory, the Caravan stopped in the "Oscar Lucero Moya" community of the provincial capital, to participate in the commemorative celebration of this event.

Here, the combatant Tomás Vidal expressed his satisfaction to see how the new generations assume the mission of continuing the construction of Socialism, the only guarantee of preserving the sovereignty and independence of Cuba.

Yanet Hernández Aguilera, secretary of the UJC provincial committee, ratified the commitment of the new generations to the continuity of the economic and social transformations promoted in the country.

"64 years ago, the revolutionary fervor overflowed through the streets of Holguín to receive the historic leader Fidel Castro and his fellow fighters, after keeping his word to achieve victory," recalled the youth leader, who also referred to the transformation experienced by the people of Cuba and the relevance of this event for the new generations, responsible for continuing to defend the conquered values and safeguarding the Revolution.

The Freedom Caravan traveled a route of more than a thousand kilometers followed, between January 2 and 8, 1959, by the Rebel Army, through which the combatants received the support of the people for the triumphant Cuban Revolution.
