Cuban Parliament President visits Felton Thermoelectric plant

Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (Parliament), toured the Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Power Plant, in Felton, as part of the parliamentary visit being carried out until Friday to the province of Holguín.


Osmel Maturel Reyes, general director of the plant, informed to the president of Parliament that unit two is already in the phase of the first running of the turbine, with a view to its synchronization to the national electricity system in the coming days.

In the meeting with the plant workers, Lazo Hernández acknowledged the work carried out to stabilize generation in block one, affected in recent days by breakdowns in the boiler.

On Friday, he will also visit the production pole of Chavaleta, as well as works associated with the east-west water transfer in the Holguín municipality of Mayarí.

The President of the Parliament is accompanied by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province, and Julio César Estupiñán Rodríguez, Governor of Holguín.
