The province currently has 60 of these areas.

According to Iliana Fernández, specialist in Institutional Communication, Etecsa also assigns part of its budget to the assembly of technical support for the mobile network waiting for the start of the Internet service in cell phones. To this end, 22 new radio bases will be installed with B nodes that support 3G, mainly in the city of Holguin and in tourist facilities.

Another eight radio bases will be relocated in areas where there is no coverage or the range is of low quality. The projections are also to reach the municipal capitals and main towns where the investments allow income to continue the implementation of the new technology.

About Nauta Hogar service, the specialist noted the unavailability, at this time, of data capabilities in the telephone exchanges of the province, for which an investment is required. She also referred the arrival, in the coming months, of the technical equipment necessary to continue expanding this service.
