Digital Radiography Contributes to Saving Money in Holguín

The digital radiographs, established in the provincial hospitals of Holguín, report significant savings to the budget of these units, whose approximate value during 2018 was estimated at more than 333, 800 Cuban pesos.
 
According to the Head of the Department of Information Technology and Communications in the Provincial Department of Health, Eduardo Cuello Martínez, the use of digital X-rays in the hospitals "Lucía Iñiguez Landin", "Vladimir Ilich Lenin" and "Octavio de la Concepción" de la Pedraja pediatric hospital "allowed the realization of more than 136, 400 studies and 226, 200 radiographic images. This, in addition to representing an important saving of resources, provides greater quality in the services in terms of availability and effectiveness in the diagnoses, by enabling the approach of the images, the enlargement and variations in color.

This technology avoids the use of components such as developing material and printing rolls required for the conventional method. Digital X-rays provide advantages to professionals and patients because it allows the visualization of studies either on computers, tablets or cell phones. / Radio Angulo
