The art of portraiture in its purest form was the central focus of the exhibition "Espejos del Alma" (Mirrors of the Soul), by visual artist Adelina Rodríguez Domínguez, presented at the Transitory Hall of the Provincial Center of Plastic Arts.
With a total of 10 pieces, the artist focused on capturing the soul and emotions of the people around her. "I paint those I love while letting myself be carried away by my feelings. I try to find people's souls to capture what we cannot see with the naked eye."
The exhibit highlights the self-portrait, where Adelina explores her inner world to offer a personal testimony, inspired by Frida Kahlo’s phrase: "I am the person I know best."
Art historian Anabel Rodríguez Ramírez inaugurated the exhibition: "The painted faces are not made of flesh, but of time. They are interwoven memories, geographical memories, where the lipstick on a lip can be a wound or a joy; inviting viewers to preserve human sensitivity."
Some works, such as the portraits of Rocío and Sofía, were created in just a few hours, reflecting the connection between intention, detail, and the artist’s life momento.
Adelina has dedicated her life to portraying the inner stories and deep emotions on her canvases, successfully capturing the soul and dreams of her subjects with great sensitivity.
