Holguín to hold National Audiovisual Festival online

The city of Holguín will host a new edition of the National Audiovisual Festival “Por primera vez " from December 15 to 17, which will be held online due to the current health and sanitary situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
After two years without taking place, the idea was resumed with the purpose of promoting audiovisual creation, taking into account the conception of a new law that recognizes creators and independent productions, said to the digital newspaper ¡ahora! The call is open until November 26 and works must be send on disk, DVD format, to the Department of Cinematographic Promotion and Appreciation based at Frexes # 156, between Morales Lemus and Narciso López streets, as files by Wetransfer or Video download links to cineholqu0@gmail.com, he detailed.
New filmmakers from all over the country will be able to participate with free-themed works with duration of 3 to 15 minutes, which must be accompanied by a file containing the title, genre, duration, director and synopsis, he added.
The works selected by the jury will make up the official sample of the event and will be exhibited through the official profiles of the organizing institution, he referred.
The jury will grant a grand prize and a popularity award that will be chosen by the public through their interaction on the official Facebook page, Cine Holguín.
This year’s edition of the Festival will be dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the town of Holguín celebrated last April 4, the 60th anniversary of the ICAIC Animation Studios and the 50th anniversary of the creation of the cartoon Elpidio Valdés.
