The US economic war against Cuba, which has lasted almost 60 years, has caused Cuba losses of more than 134 billion dollars at current prices, according to an official source.
Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuba's Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, also criticized in twitter the new measures adopted by the White House.
In spite of this campaign, our people will resist', the official assured.
Cuban authorities say that the damage inflicted during almost six decades by the economic, financial and commercial blockade amounts to more than 933 billion dollars, taking into account the depreciation of the dollar against the value of gold on the international market.
U.S. President Donald Trump's administration announced on Tuesday new restrictions on U.S. travel to Cuba.
As part of that punitive policy, the authorization for people-to-people educational group visits will be deleted and no licenses will be granted for passenger and recreational vessels, as well as private and corporate airplanes.
Although the measures affect Cubans in general, the U.S. Department of State considered that they are only directed against the Cuban government.
Recently, the White House activated Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, which allows U.S. citizens to sue before the U.S. courts persons and entities, including those from third countries, who invest in Cuban territory in properties nationalized after the triumph of the Revolution on January 1, 1959. / PL
