Holguín has a vast mountainous area where endemism and protection are combined in projects carried out by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), as part of the actions to mark the International Day of these ecosystems, celebrated every year on December 11 since 2002.

The university focused on the sustainable development of its environments, responsibilities and projections of the new scenarios will be the central theme of the X International Scientific Conference of the University of Holguín (UHo) that takes place virtually from April 26 to 30.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Thursday reiterated the need to print quality and efficiency into the actions being carried out in vulnerable neighborhoods to raise the standard of living of its inhabitants.
